About the Event
Morning (9:00-12:00)
Understanding Today’s Unique Youth: Gen Z & Gen Alpha - geared toward youth pastors, pastors, coaches, parents, grandparents, educators and others who spend time investing in youth.
With technology addiction, mental health needs, and changing family dynamics affecting young
people, many students are navigating significant challenges. As a creative, pragmatic, and
diverse generation, with a desire to use their unique skills, they also have many opportunities to
make a difference in the world. Growing up in a post-Christian culture, young people today also
need intentional support as they grow in their faith. As we engage Gen Z (b. 1996-2010) and Gen
Alpha (b. 2011-), it is critical to understand their learning styles, values, skills, and desires. This
seminar provides practical understanding for anyone working with the next generation, and
insights for connecting in meaningful ways with the young people in our lives.
Afternoon (1:00-2:30)
Gen Z in the Classroom: Teaching and Learning in the 21st Century - geared toward classroom teachers and administrators
Blended and collaborative learning, redesigned learning spaces, and emerging technologies are
just a few of the factors influencing how instruction occurs today. As education seeks to respond
to a new type of student, and prepare them for a rapidly changing world, we find it necessary to
adopt new methods and perspectives in our teaching. This session will look at current trends and
present strategies for best engaging today’s learners and preparing them for a successful future.
